Spam, Fleas and Duke's Bath

So last night I was reading a post over at The Lady Blogger's that was all about how we all love comments on our blogs! And we do! So comment your hearts out!

I learnt something from this post. That being, that when you comment on someone's blog saying "nice post" or  similar, they may dismiss you for a spammer! I was shocked! I have done this many a time. I thought that bloggers would like to know that I have read and enjoyed their post, even when I have nothing to add to it. So to any of you that I have done this to I am sorry. Now I don't usually comply to the etiquette rules of this or that situation, I manage to get by just fine using my common sense. However, I don't want to be thought of as spam either. I hate spam! Oh my... GOD! I just looked up spam and it's pork! DID YOU PEOPLE KNOW THIS!? I always thought spam was fish! Like tinned tuna or something! Hahaha... oh well.

Anyway on with the post! Today I thought I'd share with you all a recent escapade my guy, Andi and I had with our kitty, Duke. While visiting the family home, Duke and Indiana (the family cat) would go on glorious adventures together... in other words 'funny fights'.

After many days of funny fights Duke went home with (you got it) fleas! Noooo! The dreaded creatures! Now being a vegetarian I feel awfully bad about killing anything. I cried the other day when I had to kill an enormous spider that I could not just take out of the house (which is what I normally do, I assure you!)... anyway to end that tangent Andi and I decided to buy some flea shampoo and give Duke a bath.

Duke did wonderfully. I think he rather enjoyed it... How lucky we are to have such a brave little kitten! He didn't seem to mind the water much at all. Duke took it like a man! And the best part of all... the fleas are gone!

Of course Andi had to do all the hard work while I just stood there watching the cuteness and taking photos. God, I love being a woman!

  1. Hi Kristy - your kitty is so cute! Thanks for stopping by my blog - all the way from Australia??

  2. What a sweet boy. I have the exact same pictures of my kids when ring worm went around on them. They were not nearly as calm as Duke, let's just say I had to wear long sleeves to preserve my skin. :)

I am glad the fleas are gone.

  3. Great Post...

J/K I have more to say! LOL, I saw that article, too and thought the same thing! Sometimes there's really not much to add, but you want to let the blogger know you were there! Dilemma:o/

I'm a vegeterian, also and I know how you feel about killing things, even bugs...I always shoo them out, too. One bug I really haven't been able to be affable to is the earwig...ugh...they give me the skeevies...hopefully I can work my way into being tolerable with them, too:o)

    Till later!

  4. Hi! Nice blog!

What, spammer? Me? Of course not. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment! I didn't think you were a spammer. And Duke is pretty dang cute. Perhaps one day they'll (scientists, etc.) will genetically engineering a dander-free cat my husband won't be allergic to so that I can have one. One day!

  5. thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I love your little story about your cat. Glad he liked the bath.
That sucks that people delete comments like that. If I am unsure of who wrote the comment I always click the links that come in the email blogger sends you to check out the person.
    Happy Monday!!

  6. Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog! You are very brave to bathe your cat!
Your paintings are wonderful! I'm off to check out Andis blog.
    Have a great day!

  7. Spam is pork!?! I had no idea either...although I really don't know what I thought it was.

Those pictures are SO cute, love your little kitties.

  8. Your kitty is so cute taking a bath. I read that post from Lady Bloggers too and was scared for a minute also since I am new to the group. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.

  9. You have obviously never had the "pleasure" of trying Spam. You are sadly missing out. (note sarcasm)

Your poor kitty. I'm glad you were able to get rid of all the fleas.

  10. You shouldn't worry too much. One line comments are usually ok as long as the link contained within them isn't something like "Best Viagra Here! or something similar. If you use your name in the comment and keep the link to a personal site you usually have little to worry about.

Enjoy your blogging and welcome to the Blogosphere:)

  11. Your kitty is so much calmer than ours is. Our poor Buddy yowled and clawed trying to get away from the water! Poor feller!

I think the whole "nice post" thing is when people are just trying to hit every blog for the tea party or whatever. You get the feeling they didn't really read the post, they just want the return hits. I wouldn't worry too much about it!

  12. Spammer...no...not unless you have a link under your name that say "work from home."

Oh that kitty...looks like he took it like a trooper.

  13. Oh, this is too cute! Poor kitty :p

  14. Beautiful kitties! When I owned a cat, or rather, when the cat owned me, I know that he would never have spoken to me again if I had ever tried to give him a bath!

  15. These pictures made me giggle. I'm sure everyone is happy the bathing is complete.

  16. Ooooh my kitties would freak out!!!

I love you for commenting!
