DIY Twine Wrapped Glass Jar

twine jar diy
I am such a saver of glass jars. Do you guys do that to? I have been experimenting with them recently and have a few projects to show you. This is my first though. I needed something like this for the bathroom and I didn’t want to sit just any old boring glass container on the bench. This is super easy to do. All you need is glue (I used wood glue), twine and any old glass that you have sitting around. I used a garlic jar, cleaned first of course! Paint on a thin layer of the glue using an old paint brush and slowly wrap the twine around the glass. Starting off is the only tricky bit, once you get it going it’s a breeze and will be finished in no time.
You could do this to practically anything, old tins, vases, anything you have handy that needs a re do!

  1. I keep stashing glass bottles away too. The twine idea is a good one. I did some painted ones, but it would be nice to add some twine covered bottles to the mix. Thanks for stopping over at Quirky Vistas and checking out my little lunch box Easter basket from Kris at Junk Chic Cottage. I'm loving the sweet touch of Spring it's adding to my mantel.

  2. Looks good and would certainly make it safer to have in the bathroom too

  3. I have been meaning to try this for some time and haven't gotten around to it . Guess I'll have to give it a try , yours is really cute !

  4. I have way too many glass jars and bottles. I love the way you have styled this one. Gee twine is a great crafting item. Have a great weekend.

  5. What a great idea for jars (I seem to have quite a collection too) and so easy to make even I can do this!

  6. I just wrapped some bottles with burlap and muslin strips. Love the look of the twine. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
